Number of guest exceeds our limit

Dear all,

I am new. Can I have some suggestions?

My max guest count is 5. There is a new booking for 4 adults. but in the message it says there will be another 2 kids under 5 yr old. (total 6 persons)

I have a king bed, queen bed and twin folding bed. Just one bathroom though.

Technically it can sleep 6 but I want to hear your suggestions on how to handle this.

Do I just accept? or I should revise the reservation by adding 2 kids. (This will incur additional charge because I charge additional guest) more than 4 guest)

I would very appreciate your guidance.

Andy

@Yi-Tsang0  If the booking exceeds your advertised guest count you can request that the guest cancel, or you can call CS and ask them to cancel the guest for exceeding your guest count.

I don't know why people think that children do not count.  I have a clear statement in my listing text that I will accept 4 persons of any age including children and infants.  4 human beings.

Other hosts may disagree, but charging for additional guests is IMO an invitation for exceeding your desired guest count.  "Oh, the property only has beds for the 4 adults so we will put the 3 kids in sleeping bags on the floor...the host won't care".   Ah, but we do.

Hi Lorna,

Thank you for your inputs. The idea is that 2 beds sleep 4 and the folding bed sleeps 1. So that is total of 5.

I am hoping to hear more suggestions before I can make the decisions. Thanks again.

@Yi-Tsang0  You should have AirBnB cancel this reservation. Guests who decide that THEY get to tell YOU who's coming to stay, and are already breaking your rules in doing so, are going to be bad guests. This is only the first of many problems that they will cause you.

Do NOT accommodate them- get rid of them.

@Lorna170 's suggestion is spot on.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will go ahead to cancel the booking.

Both of you have a great day.
