Potential Cancellation - Gift Card Inquiry

Hi there! I booked a place for February in Tucson which I'm very excited about but in the slight event that I need to cancel (before the cancellation deadline), I wanted to ask how I would receive back the $200 gift card credit that I initially applied to book this place. Would it appear in my account again as a credit available for use?

Good news—if you’re eligible for a refund, we'll send your refund as soon as you cancel, to the payment method you used when you booked the reservation.

Hi there! I am aware that I would receive a refund through my payment method used but I am curious about the $200 credit specifically since I booked this stay through multiple payment methods. I looked in the link you provided and I am not finding info about gift card credits specifically

@Rebecca Sorry you are incorrect you don't get refunds for gift cards @Brielle443 

Thank you for confirming Helen! Instead of a refund, will the gift card credit to be restored on my account if the reservation is canceled?

Thank you @Helen3 & @Brielle443 - Let me clarify, upon claiming, the entire Gift Card value will be shown on your Airbnb account balance, therefore gift cards may be refunded as Airbnb credit depending on circumstances. It would be best to speak to the Airbnb Team to discuss it further.

I was told by Airbnb that they don't refund credits when this happened to me but if @Rebecca feels otherwise then call customer services and do let us know @Brielle443 

this is not correct.  I booked a room, cancelled it minutes later when it was further away than advertised, and the gift card credit was back in my balance in 5 minutes
