Without my knowledge, my child accidentally—and in haste—booked a room. I asked them to cancel it within 30 minutes. They did cancel it, but out of 147 Euros, only 25 Euros were refunded. It is a complete disappointment—the amount we paid for a place where we didn't even stay.

Was this a last-minute booking @Ismail190 ?

Yes, it was a last-minute booking made last night. However, it was completely accidental as my underage son clicked the button by mistake. I noticed it immediately and cancelled the entire reservation within 30 minutes.

 

Because the booking and cancellation happened almost instantly within a 30-minute window, the host's calendar wasn't blocked or affected. This is why getting charged 122.53 Euros for a 30-minute mistake feels extremely unfair

It was an accidental reservation in Amsterdam for a family of four for one day.

Ok @Ismail190 , if check-in is so close the cooling off period unfortunately doesn't apply.

 

Some hosts are willing to give a refund if they manage to find a replacement guest. You could ask the host whether they would do this.

 

 

The landlord told my son that they would pay.

The host said, "A refund is no problem; we can do that. Just write to the Airbnb Support department." However, that department is a bot—not a real person.

The full refund was credited to my credit card account today. Thank you.
