Respond message

I am fairly new to Airbnb as a host.

 

I have a constant message regarding a guest's reservation as follows: 'Oliver wants to book a trip' and beneath this line there's a message in red type '-5603 mins to respond' and it's increasing every minute! 

 

I don't understand why I have this message because I have 'instant booking' and Oliver's booking has been confirmed and I responded with a message to Oliver within 2 hours of his booking confirmation. 

 

I usually respond within two hours of receiving bookings and enquiries so I am keen to maintain a good 'response' record.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Maybe this person has sent a separate inquiry or other booking before making a final  booking ?

If inquiry : just answer with something and the message will disappear.

If booking request: ask the guest to retract that request.

@Martin3864 Having instant book enabled does not preclude a reservation request coming in. The tip off that this is a request to book is "Oliver wants to book a trip". You must accept or decline it. Just responding isn't sufficient. Once you've done either, the clock stops ticking. You have 24 hours.

 

Are you certain this is in fact a confirmed booking, by going to your reservations list? If it is confirmed, you will see the booking there, with 'confirmed' beside it.

@Martin3864 If you have instant book on and get a booking request it is usually because the guest doesn't meet your criteria for IB or because they want an early/late  check in so be careful to understand why it is a booking request.

The 'message' has now gone and I assume it's because Oliver has checked in. He wrote the message as he made the instant booking and just asked a question about checking in earlier. I responded to that message within an hour and we had a couple of message exchanges and  pleased to say it seems to be resolved. I only hope it won't affect my 'response' status!
