Tips for getting reimbursement requests paid?

Hi everyone,

I opened up my first ever damage claim 5 months ago, and have provided all the necessary documentation for my request. The Airbnb support team that was emailing me has since ceased to reply to any of my emails or provide any update on my case. I’ve opened up 6 separate chats with Airbnb support over this damage claim and every time they’ve told me they will connect me to another team and then close my case and do nothing to resolve it. I’ve also called in to customer support multiple times to no avail.

its become clear that they have no intention of paying me the $700+ that I filed the claim for, which was only a fraction of the actual costs that my wife and I incurred. We are super hosts and have done everything to protect our status and have avoided filing claims in the past even when there was damage because we didn’t want unfair negative reviews issued in revenge for claiming damages.

Now, when I finally do decide that I need to file for damages I’m given the run around by a company who claims to offer great protections and insurance for hosts. It’s made me lose an incredible amount of faith in Airbnb. Has anyone else had similar experiences and had luck getting resolution?

Thanks

Hi @Mitchell123 , I'm so sorry to hear about the claim request.

Did you hear back from Airbnb Support about your claim since you posted a while ago?

I haven’t yet. I’ve tried reaching out to Airbnb a few times since this post and have continued to have no luck. They always tell me that I’ll hear from a specialist and then nobody ever reaches out

They did it again...tried to post the following and got an "error page". Only when I try to post this.

I tried to leave a reply earlier, but every time I click reply Airbnb makes me "sign in" and then conveniently everything I wrote disappears.

Let me try this again...

In the past month, Airbnb has manage to avoid doing anything about my almost $12k reimbursement request against a guest. The damage is so severe, we cannot rent our home and have now lost almost 2 months worth of rentals in our highest season.

The resolutions center has no contact number and no one actually responds to the emails. You only receive them, which leads me to believe the whole thing is run by AI.

We have called the CS number many times, all reps promise to "escalate" our issue yet NOTHING is actually done. You cannot get rep #'s and have to demand, yes demand bc they will not give out willingly, the call ref#'s. Everyone promises to help and no one does. Repeating the same nonsense the CS agent before gave "I'm so sorry" I understand", they are not and they do not.

We only received emails from resolutions 3 weeks into this process saying we were missing documents We reviewed the requirements and spoke to a CS agent who assured us we included everything necessary. We then received a threatening email giving us 3 DAYS to submit the missing documents (again never stating what was actually missing) or they would dismiss our request.

We of course emailed back asking for an explanation, explaining that we were told by CS that we had everything. No response.

Only AFTER the deadline, convenient, we receive an email from "Noah" stating that they could not "verify the contractor" on the quote and since it was "passed the deadline", they woud dismiss the request. This, of course, came as quite the shock.

I emailed back stating not only were they wrong, that we had also contact CS and spoke with Supervisors since they never bothered answering our emails, but also provide easily available documentation proving the contractor is licensed in our state. I provided the pdf and the link, that they easily could have accessed, even if they are a bot.

NO RESPONSE.

I called again just now and was promised the same garbage. I even asked if this was never actually going to be resolved and if I had to contact an attorney at this point. They tell me "no no no, we resolve". Supposedly yet another Supervisor is to call me, within 3 hours.

I am not hopeful. I'm collecting all of the unanswered emails we sent to resolutions and documenting every phone call so I'm prepared.
