Trash & recycling pickup

There was another thread about this topic, but different situation and no real answers.

We're new to this; our first guest arrives on Dec 8th and we're mostly booked through mid March already.  All of bookings so far are 2-3 weeks with the exception of one 3 night stay.  Not sure how to deal with trash and recycling pickup.  The city picks up trash twice a week, but the cans have to be at the curb.  However, none of our turnovers are on a trash pickup day.

Our rental property is less than a mile from our home, so we could go over and put the cans out the night before pickup, and put them back the next day.  The cans are big enough (65 gallons) that once a week ought to be sufficient.  However, this raises a bigger question...

When we have guests, I just assumed we should stay away and let them have their privacy.  So either the guests have to put the cans out by the street, or we have to go over and do it.  If we do it, should we call first?  Should we just rely on them to do it?

@Donald225  Give your guests the option and arrange it with them beforehand.  If they choose to do it, maybe send them a reminder the night before. If they would prefer that you do it, let them know what time you'll be by.

It's never okay to just show up unannounced unless there's some emergency situation, or there's a party going on you have to break up.
