Walking through second bedroom to use bathroom

Hi folks,

I currently have an airbnb with one bedroom and an office with a futon. It's listed for 3 quests.

I plan to add a queen bed to the current office, making the space two bedrooms. My issue is the only bathroom is a en suite, meaning you must walk through one bedroom to use the bathroom. Could this space possibly host 4 people or should I stick with 3? I make sure to be clear about the bathroom situation in my listing.

The reason I have had it listed as 3 guests is because I thought it may be awkward for 2 couples. We have had many guests with 3 people and no one has seemed to mind the walkthrough bedroom to use the bathroom situation yet. What are your thoughts?

@Teresa1505 We have a 1 bedroom flat with a queen bed plus an ensuite off the bedroom and a sofa converting to a double bed in the lounge. One guest complained about access to the bathroom through the bedroom but we explained that is exactly what ensuite means. A few have complained about the sofa bed but we clearly state it is intended for children or small adults. Comprehension is always a problem. Go ahead and convert the office to a lounge with a futon or sife for 2 to accommodate families with 2 children.

@Teresa1505 I think families would be fine but as you say two couples probably not. I don't think it is good enough, as @Marg11 suggests, to call the bathroom an ensuite and expect people to realise that means a trek through the bedroom. Whilst this is technically correct it will cause issues and potentially poor reviews which none of us want.

I say in the booking page “you must walk through the second bedroom to use the bathroom.” I figured some might not know what en suite is.

@Teresa1505 When 4 adults book we do advise the sofa bed in the lounge is a double bed and definitely not as comfortable as the queen in the bedroom plus the bathroom is ensuite, that is, off the bedroom. Our online photos show the bathroom door clearly in the bedroom and the made up sofa bed has the front and kitchen doors in the background for that reason. However, sometimes parents sleep on the sofa bed to watch tv leaving the children easy access to the bathroom. It has not affected our frequently returning guests or 95% booking rates.
