we leave a welcome basket on the entry table, a small assortment of snack chips, nut bars, individual snack nuts & small chocolates anything from Costco that's individually wrapped always is a winner. And the most important things is fresh bakery bread we buy from Coles or Woolworths here in Australia.
And on the entry table a bottle of wine again from Costco to keep the cost's down, not everyone takes or eats/uses these but the thought goes a long way.
A small bowel of seasonal fruit e.g. one apple, orange, 2 banana's pear plum's etc, anything that is discounted at the grocery store on the day.
And
In the fridge , small Costco bottles of water ,small soft drinks, small cheeses from Costco, snack KitKat Etc. Eggs & small butters & 1Ltr if milk, I asked them what type of milk they drink when they book, if it's a person that drinks milk alternatives I have long life milk's, soy almond, Oat etc stored from Aldi.
And
Basic's in the pantry, cup's of noodles, tuna, baked beans, canned soup, breakfast clerical's from Costco. But NO gift's per say, just basic's that will get them through the first night. We've had nothing but all 5 star rating because of this.

We stopped taking one day bookings due to the costs of supplying these items, but you could have minimum booking 2 plus or more days.
