Why do I suddenly have no bookings?

Hi! 

When we first put up our listing on Airbnb, there were a number of enquiries coming in everyday. But since the last 3-4 days, there's a sudden halt in enquiries.

I wonder if anyone encountered the same issue recently? Is it something wrong with my listing? 

Some enlightenment from other Hosts/Airbnb would be of great help!

I use to be casually booked out for the month but now there's a dramatic drop in bookings. I brought the price down from $100 to $80 but still people arent booking.  90% of my reviews are positive, I just get 4 stars for location but what is the reason for the sudden drop in bookings???

Please help.

It seems very strange - I tried to contact Airbnb but ?????????????????

I thought I was doing okay in regards to inquiries throughout January.

In January I got a booking for February.  But since the end of January everything went dead.

I had 5 consecutive inquiries  and then one of the inquiries booked, and turned around and immediately cancelled - within hours the same day. Since then absolutely nothing.

I tried to generate interest by lowering the nightly price, changed photos, added a larger bed, edited my main photo and listing name - still nothing at all.

Then to make things worse, the guest who had booked for February, while she was staying with me,  told me she could no longer find my listing in her Airbnb searches ( that was before I had edited the listing name). I did my own Airbnb search and could not find my listing anywhere. 

This all seem very strange. Could someone take a look at my listing and give some feed back. Much appreciated.

After a couple of seasons I've learned to roll with it. They bounce back. Have there been more listings added in your area? Is there an event hat draws people at certain times of the year. 

Treat your listing like a lover, touch it everyday. Log in, block a day, save it, unblock it. All the best. X

I hear you about " touching "the listing everyday. I do. Sometimes I think I am touching it too much:)

and nothin now for three weeks.

Doesnt seem to be a lot of newbys,but they do sneak in I guess.

We have been on AirBnB since December, and I have been following all of the guidelines.  I monitor prices to be a bit on the low to competitive side (since we are new), we keep the garden and house looking great, and have created a thorough profile for ourselves and our listing.  From the day we started we got inquiries (we are in Orlando, Florida area, about 30 miles from parks), although not everyone booked, we felt like we were in the market.  We got fully booked for Feb. and Mar., but now.... crickets.  I hear nothing.  We haven't changed anything except adding a few extra photos, and adding a foreign language version of our page which I though would be helpful.  Our calendar is completely open from April 15th on.  It is so strange not to even get inquiries.  When I look at the stats for the past 30 days it says 286... less than 10 per day?  Does anyone have any ideas why we would just drop off the algorithm or something?  We did have one guy who unfairly gave us 3 stars for cleaning because our bathroom and kithen were "outdated."  That does not mean they were not clean... I am a neat freak, and a germ freak, so I know they were spotless, speckless, super clean.  Could that rating have made AirBnB shun us?  Here is the listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16123509

Hello -

My experience has been with  visibility.  Once a month, I change my title and price.  This has helped because the website "system" thinks you're a new listing so you are put in with the newer listings  thus, more visibility.  

I don't think the guest 3 star rating should hurt.  One other thought,  by April, doesn't tourism slow down in Florida?

Hello. I just joined. Had regular bookings all week then it all stoped i eben got good reviews and no cancellations. 

Do i appear in the listings. Whats gone wrong ?

Me too barely a whisper this year, very different from last year and the year before when I had so many inquiries I had to turn away quite a few people. Anyone have any ideas why?

Hello -

Becasue more and more people are becoming hosts, your listing gets pushed down in the viewing.  You need to periodically change the name and price of your lilsting so your listing seems  "fresh on the market, new" and is more visible when folks are looking.  Make sense.  Hope this helps.

You can't change the name of the listing.

The best thing you can do is to update your calendar everyday by editing the TEXT within the listing.  That's what updates the calendar.  I know.... it makes no sense but what are you gonna do.

Also, look to see how many views you've had this week.  If you have good numbers, and @Omar48, you do, then people just aren't travelling.

I've seen a hit come "bigly" since our US elections.
