@Zohreh2  Your review will publicly post when the host also writes a review or after 14 days whichever comes first.  You are notified when the review is public.

If you need to call Air BNB, you would have a phone number on your reservation confirmation,  I believe.

@Philip162  If you enter my profile you will find that I’m a host from Copenhagen. I got a small apartment and I rent out a room in my home. Of course I need to know the rules and how the platform works as a host. I don’t really think I defend the review system in any way - I simply explain how it works. Level 10 means that I have been active in this community and that people have found my contributions, advice etc. helpful and giving them ‘thumbs up’.

@Philip162 If that is the case, and my honest review is not posted. I, for sure, will not rent through Airbnb again. Our three week trip to Europe will be done through other Agents. I was innocent enough to think what what I read was the truth.

@Diana2147 have a look at our listings - if you are travelling to Derbyshire you will get exactly what we describe.

@Philip162 level 10 means I just post the truth on here more often than your level2. keep posting, rubbish or not, and you will soon be level 10

I don't need to be "level 10" on anything.  Fortunately, I am not co-dependent or search for approval.  However, if you are on this forum as much as you seem to be, there are benefits involved.  It takes on the aura of "Influencers," a malaise infecting social media and people's lives.  It is sad, and you are fully aware why you are so proud of your "Level 10" status.  Intellectually, there is no true honesty, unless "influencers" are prepared to anger the power elite.  Yet, that is not why they do what they do.  The unfortunate circumstances of the woman who started this post are real, and she deserves support without ulterior motives.  Thus, rather than feeding the monster, abstain from commenting and let this woman have some peace knowing not all reviews are posted,

especially if they are deemed overly negative.  All websites do this, including TripAdvisor, VRBO, Booking.com etc.  In fact, many of the travel websites are owned by the same corporation.  Remember, I live in Seattle, Expedia world.  Please don't take umbrage at my honesty.  We all need a dose of the truth every once in a while.

@Diana2147 The review system is blind - otherwise it would be impossible to write an honest/ not great review. If your review of the host was published now then your host could read it and write a revenge review. Both guest and host got 14 days after checkout to leave a review. After the review period is over your review will get published and by then it will be to late for your host to leave a review.
You seem to have misunderstood how the review system works - because your review will ALWAYS get published - same with host review. If only one part writes a review it will get published when the review period is over. If both parts leave a review the reviews will get published instantly when the last part leaves a review. If only one part leaves a review it will get published when the review period is over.
best, Sandra

@Sandra856 Thank you Sandra. I will wait another week. It has only been 6 days. I expect my review to be posted, or I will never book through Airbnb.  I am not afraid of a bad review from the host, because there is no reason for that. I am always a good guest and my hosts always give good reviews.   Except I am too clean and expect places to be as clean as they say and that tell the truth. If I knew the place was a bit run down, and I rent it, I accept that. But if they say it is brand new and I get to a place with moldy curtain showers, clogged zinc and tub, no coffee maker or washer and dryer, dirty refrigerator, different from what  I expected, then, that is a different story.

Hi @Diana2147 🌿The review system is set up so everything happens automatically. You will automatically get an email on the day of check out that asks you to leave a review - the host will get a similar email. If only one part leaves a review it will automatically get published 14 days after check out as that is when the review period ends. No one reads the 1000s of reviews that are automatically published every day before they are published. Host and guest are able to contact Airbnb afterwards - but Airbnb will only take down a review it is against their review TOS - meaning if it is very hateful, includes racist or sexist comments etc.

@Sandra856 Thank you Sandra.  I will wait and see. I don't think my review is hateful, althoughI mentionedthat the host is impersonal and unfriendly,  which was true to me. I wish I could edit it, to make sure there is nothing there that can be considered against Airbnb policies, but I am not able to do it. My only concern when I wrote it was to let people know the truth about the place.  If it is not brand new, do not say so, if it is not right by the water, do not say so, if there are no washer and dryer in the apartment,  do not say so, if there is no coffee maker, or coffee, do not say so, and on and on it goes.  I also find it strange that they have an address for the place and last minute, they send you a different address,  not by the water, but to an apartment building which obviously frowns against Airbnb guests. That's a no-no.

@Diana2147 I couldn’t agree with you more! It is so very important that we as guests can book a place and be sure that everything is as advertised. Otherwise it makes the platform very unreliable. And it is a huge no-go to send you a completely different address after booking. You could have contacted Airbnb so they could refund you. If that ever happens again you can contact Airbnb via your reservation and they can help you cancel the stay. Also it is very unlikely that your review will get removed. They hardly ever remove reviews - the reason  - because it would also make the platform very unreliable. So just wait until your host leaves a review or til the review period ends.

Best, Sandra

@Sandra856 Thank you for the information.  I didn't know I could have been refunded.

The one very unfair about situations like this is that not only affects the guests but the other hosts as well. I was hesitant about renting that particular place because it was not a Superhost.  I only chose it because the reviews were good and it said it was brand new near the water, on the map. That kept me from renting from a Superhost that was $500 less expensive,  but said it was 15 minutes from the water. The one I rented was about 10 minutes from it...  So, about the same thing.

Not true, see my reply here. I attached my conversation with an ambassador here.

I just rented from a super host with close to 5 stars. The listing was hugely expensive - nearly $600 per night - and there were so many things wrong. My bathroom was filthy and reeked of urine (brush and container near toilet had not been emptied), thermostat was disabled and controlled only by homeowner and temperature was a very chilly and uncomfortable 67 degrees - multiple messages ignored by host and temperature never adjusted. Host posted a noise warning and a fine notification if they received any noise complaint - not on listing, and this rental had beds and space for 20 people (just begs for partiers - our group however was 4 ladies just looking for some luxury, of which there was absolutely none). Only 1 towel per bathroom, no amenities such and cream and sugar for coffee. At end of stay, host messaged me that they were giving me 5 stars and asked me to do the same. Of course, my review is not showing — because they know they messed up royally. I suspect they will ask AirBNB to remove my very honest review before the 14 day period is up. They have an overall rating of 4.91. Meanwhile, these “luxury” accommodations are across the street from Section 8 housing and for $600 per night we could have had a suite at a luxury hotel.

@Traci151 your review will post on the earlier of 14 days post stay or when the host reviews you.

I think you mistook price for luxury. In this case the price was high for reasons of size not luxury I m afraid.

Thank you. My review eventually appeared. May be the only bad review so it got me thinking that my standards for cleanliness are high. I expected the place to be clean, because it was advertised as brand new and the pictures (probably from the time it first started) looked good.
