Marketing Tips: Highlighting Unique Activities in the Main Picture

Hello,

It's not unknown that your main picture plays the main role in attracting potential guests first hand.

Most listings have a picture of either their bedroom or the exterior of the house or the living room. That's great! But how does your listing stand out? Can you make use of a popular event happening in your town or a unique experice that you can provide your guests? Most certainly, you can.

My town is currently having the Annual Strawberry Festival where local farmers sell fresh strawberries, jams, cheesecakes & other strawberry desserts. One of the major attractions is the most avaited activity of "Strawberry Picking". Few farmers allow visitors to pay & enter their fields to pick fresh strawberries for themselves. I recently made friends with one such farmer who owns a beautiful strawberry field & he has agreed to allow my guests go Strawberry Picking in his field during the festival.

I have added this info to my main picture & plan to keep it until the festival lasts. I won't say that I'm flooded with requests but I had 2 potential guest inquire specifically about the Strawberry Picking experience.

If you or your town has any unique experience to offer your guests, I think it's a good idea to highlight it in the main picture.

It could be anything like: Snorkling, Surfing, Pottery, Oktoberfest, Music Fest, Zip-lining, Cheese tasting,  Wine & Paint Nights or something as simple as a baking class by you.

If you like the idea, go ahead and try it. Let everybody know how it worked for you.
