Hello everyone,

Creating a welcoming space for families seeking child-friendly listings can be a rewarding experience, as it helps expand the target audience for your listing. Do you consider your listing to be child-friendly? We'd love to hear from hosts who have taken steps to make their listings more suitable for families with children.

What amenities do you offer to make families feel comfortable and at home? Are there any safety measures you've put in place to ensure a worry-free stay for parents?

Yes, I have child friendly listings on Airbnb. Everyone is welcome at my homes. The Fair Housing Act is important, in my opinion, for all Hosts to be aware of and incorporate in their home policies offered on Airbnb. Happy Hosting!! Patti

Hi Paula,

We have children and young adults about 50% of the time. Sometimes we have 2-4 generations stay. It's fun to see everyone enjoying their vacations together.

Cheers,

Patti

Yes, our home listed on Airbnb is child friendly. Everyone is welcome.

We have a high chair, full size crib, baby monitor so parents can enjoy their time but also have piece of mind that their child is safe, pack and play, toddler utensils, travel/beach pack and play,               and adding a bassinet in October.

Hi @Mina1167 , I must say your listing looks fantastic 😍

How do you promote all the child amenities in your listing? Do you include this information in the description, or do you share these details when you receive a new inquiry?

Hello everyone,

I absolutely consider my listing to be child-friendly, and I've taken several steps to make families with children feel comfortable and at home during their stay. Here are some of the amenities and safety measures I've put in place:

  1. Safety First: Safety is my top priority. I've installed safety gates at the top and bottom of stairs to prevent accidents. I've also childproofed electrical outlets and sharp corners.

  2. Baby Gear: To make packing easier for parents, I provide essential baby gear like a crib, high chair, and baby bathtub. This way, families can travel lighter and have everything they need on-site.

  3. Kid-Friendly Entertainment: I've set up a dedicated play area with age-appropriate toys, books, and games. There's also a TV with kid-friendly channels and a DVD player with a selection of children's movies.

  4. Outdoor Space: My property has a safe and secure outdoor space where kids can run and play. I've added a swing set and a small pool with a fence around it for added safety.

  5. Kitchen Amenities: In the kitchen, I have child-friendly dishes, utensils, and cups. I also provide a blender for making baby food and a bottle warmer.

  6. Childproofing Supplies: I keep a stash of childproofing supplies, such as cabinet locks and outlet covers, in case parents need to make additional adjustments based on their child's specific needs.

  7. Local Recommendations: I provide a list of family-friendly activities and attractions in the area, along with recommendations for kid-friendly restaurants.

  8. Flexible Check-In/Check-Out: I offer flexible check-in and check-out times to accommodate families with varying schedules.

  9. Emergency Contact Information: I provide a list of emergency contacts and nearby medical facilities, just in case.

  10. Regular Cleaning and Sanitization: I have a rigorous cleaning schedule in place, paying extra attention to disinfecting high-touch surfaces to ensure a clean and safe environment for children.

I've received positive feedback from many families who have stayed at my listing, and I'm always open to suggestions for improvement. Creating a welcoming space for families has been a rewarding experience, and I look forward to continuing to make their stays as enjoyable and worry-free as possible.

Hola! Nuestro alojamiento no es apto para peques o bebés, es muy pequeño para ofrecer opciones extra para dormir o incluso accesorios y juguetes ‌😔

Hi! Our accommodation is not suitable for toddlers or babies, it is too small to offer extra sleeping options or even accessories and toys. **Translation added by Community Manager

near the house is a beautiful sandy beach ideal for children. The house has a feeder and a bed for children.

Yes, both our listings are child friendly. The house has a bed for children/baby, a feeder and many toys & books (Greek & French). The pool is protected by a fence and the village is quiet and safe (not many cars pass by the house) with many interesting walks to do with a toodler (see local animals ext.).

Hi,

Our little cottage is pretty child-friendly. We have a travel cot, high chair and stair gate, and sometimes offer a single mattress for a child to sleep upstairs next to the double bed.

We have children's books and games in the cottage and always offer more for any ages - our grandchildren are 18 months and 9 years old. We also have spare children's (and adults) bikes if families want to borrow them.

The cottage is set back from the road in our garden by our house, with a small side garden for the guests to use, so no immediate access to the main road.

We don't have a television in the property and parents are always grateful for that so that the children engage in activities, walks, going to the playground, playing board games etc. Even adults are pleased and some come regularly as there is no television!!!!

Hello,

I have a listing that encompasses two bedrooms and a private bath. I do let folks know that it is not suitable for toddlers however, as there are no safety measures in place. There are NO baby gates, outlet covers, safety latches on cabinets (with chemicals inside)…etc. I have had some for a night once or twice (without issue) and have provided small dishes and books/activities. We also have hosted kids 8-16 in the past without issues.

Blessings,

TJ

@ Paula I started this last week and now finishing it off with some pictures.

@Paula great topic one that I embrace with the challenge of setting up for our little or young guests. As mentioned in the Festival of Hospitality 2023 What Hospitality Means to Me  and how we take delight in trying to make their stay enjoyable. As I had said my philosophy is the child is happy, it makes the parents life easier which is similar to @Robin4  saying "happy child, happy parent".

This is my last little gift for our guest, Finn. I copy pages and make a colouring book from a collection of books are suitable for age and gender for our young guests staying. There is usually a small gift that I am collecting all year round usually around $3 and colouring pencils for $1.50.

The little boat wood parts made by husband and i make a paper sail with their name on. It is in their room when they arrive and we say they can take it home.

I do charge an extra $25 per person staying per night. These extras come out of that money and pays for the laundry as well.

Finn's mother sent me the photo that he was happy colouring in and thank you. This is our small treat so that the family stay is rememborable.
