Request to add a 30 minute experience option on Airbnb
Hello everyone!
I’m a photographer and I also offer an experience on Airbnb. Many people have asked me to provide a 30 minute photo shoot experience, but Airbnb only allows a minimum session length of 1 hour. I’ve already asked the Airbnb team to add this option, but they said that a lot of people need to submit this request through their feedback center. What are your thoughts on this? Are there other people who would like to have this option too? If so, please send your feedback to Airbnb!
Greetings from Italy
David

Hi @David12895,
Thank you for bringing this idea up in our community! How long have you been doing this photo shoot experience, and how is it going for you so far?
I wanted to tag in a few other hosts who, I believe, offer Experiences as well, to get their perspective on this question: @Damien591 @Fraser28 @Arthur424 @Aria15290 - what do you think?
I'm also including the official Airbnb feedback form here, so you or anyone else who'd like to can share your suggestion directly with Airbnb. 🙂
Thanks,
Emilie

Ciao Emilie,
Thank you so much for your support!
I have been working as a filmmaker/photographer for over 10 years, and I have been offering this experience on Airbnb since 2021 too. I believe this could be also a great way for Airbnb to provide more flexibility options to users. At the moment, I have 234 review, and many of these people have asked me about offering a 30 minute option.
Thank you for sharing my message with other hosts.
Have a great day!
Kind regards
David

I have an Experience request pending with Airbnb presently for a one hour walking tour. I have bene on Airbnb for several years now and find it very useful.
As to a thirty minute option?
From the angle of my specialty, history walking tours, it would not in my view work.
However, your experience is different, David, and having read your reply to the Airbnb Community question, I fully appreciate it WOULD work for your experience.
Good luck!

Thanks @Fraser28 for sharing your perspective on this with us! I can appreciate that different activities are best suited for different lengths of time.
Have you ever been asked to offer longer walking tours? Edinburgh is a gorgeous city with a lot to explore, I wonder if you've had guests suggesting the opposite to what David's have mentioned. 😄

Hi Emilie, and Happy Christmas!
My website manager is presently working on an all day walking tour product for Edinburgh. The plan is it will be a menu from which customers choose, upon contacting me directly subsequent to paying and by default booking their product.
I then liase with them directly on how I can best provide what they want, Vs what is practical. Edinburgh has barely a flat pierce of land to its name, plus some of the options are too far apart geographically to icljude in a single day walking tour package.
Also, time restrictions - specifically, optimal length of customer enjoyment of an all day product.
For example, a tour of Dean Village, followed by a wak up to Edinburgh Castle, lunch in the Red Coat Cafe there, followed by a walking tour of the castle, free time to enjoy its buildingds, then a tour of the full length of the Royal Mile, would far outstrech the boundary of optimal enjoyment time.
I am thinking a menu style option, managed through the Airbnb platform, incl of course liasing directly with the customer for their bespoke package, would be too complex for listing as an Airbnb Experience.
As such, I would need to submit a more specific experience as an all day product, eg Edinburgh Castle, then free time in the castle, followed by lunch, then a Dean Village walking tour. Done.
I would greatly appreciate your thoughts please, Emilie.
