What should you include in your listing title?
Hello everyone,
Along with the main photo, the title of your listing is the first thing that guests see when searching for somewhere to stay. It’s therefore really important to make sure it puts your home in the best light and attracts guests to click on it and find out more!
What do you think should be included in the listing title? Many listings have similar titles that include the type of property and where it’s close to e.g. Charming studio close to city center, how can you make yours stand out? Feel free to share your listing title and explain why you chose it!
Looking forward to seeing your tips!
Thanks,
Quincy

Thank you. I changed my wording from "no elevator or steps" to "no elevator/steps needed". There is an elevator and steps at the property but you can access our unit without using them. It's better to be on the safe side!

Hi @Quincy
I call my place 'large country house for 21 people' as it tells potential guests immediately in the title that we can indeed host 21 people and not the 16 that Airbnb have as their max. Hoping they catch up soon!!

I looked for the most unique feature of our condo. There are many units in our building using Airbnb so what would draw attention and interest to ours? I am using "Oceanfront, Ground Floor, No Elevator or Steps). I am filling my calendar so I feel it's working. In the photos I make sure that the view of the ocean clearly stands out. I've played with the wording and tried different options and this seems to be the best so far.

I go back and forth with my Mom on this. She had me change title to
Relaxing mountain log cabin with PRIVATE HOT TUB.
I had always liked changing it with the seasons some were:
Cabin w/ private hot tub casino 17 miles Helen 40 miles
Cabin w/ PRIV HOT TUB Lake 1 Mile, Helen 40, Hiking Close
What do you like better??

Hi everyone, looking for critique for my place. ( newbie here) I’ve tied “welcome to Paris” (Paris themed room) or location “Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead” and advice?

Hi Theresa!
I would think about what makes your place unique? If the decor is the most unique feature then it makes sense to mention "Paris" ... but the decor should shine through in your listing photos anyway...and most times I find the decor a delight factor but not the sole reason I choose to book a property. I look for good "Bones" (Location, comfortable looking bed with white/clean linens, unique features, wifi...updated shower/soaker tub etc...
I recently booked a tiny house getaway in Seattle... and the listing just stated "Tiny River House". Then I discovered they had a hot tub! I wish they had listed this feature in the listing title! What an amazing feature. As guests we spend hours creating lists of unique places that catch our eye and then we compare and contrast the price, location and features... Mention the features of your place and your location. Is it walkable, secluded... ? Do you have wifi or a cool feature like a record player , a tree swing or a hot tub? If so highlight this in your listing title so you stand out 😉

Your listing looks nice! I would definitely visit and stay there! : )
Your reviews speak for themselves! Lots of compliments to you as a gracious host and the proximity to the lake...also they mention they felt safe which is great!
I would include more pictures of the outdoors featuring people enjoying the lake or running the trail, etc...

I list the features that guests love the most about my place... the details that kept coming up in my reviews over and over again.
One of my most well loved Airbnb listings (The karma cabin) has a very unusual layout... a clawfoot tub in the living room! When I first aquired the property I planned to renovate and change this- but guests kept telling me how much they loved being able to bath by the woodstove and gaze at the stars through the picture window.
My listing title is currently: Lovable Karma Cabin with woodstove + clawfoot tub
Over and over again I am reminded the quirky features of a property are often what makes it so unique and so lovable 🙂

Just curious, is there a section where we can critique each other’s listings for suggestions?

My current title is "Modern Bungalow for a Family or Couple near Lake"
I find myself changing the title every few months, as I am trying to attract couples, families and professionals to our remodeled bungalow near downtown Burlington, Vermont. With the character limit - ( I think it's good that there is a cap to the # so the titles are not too long) - however, I still want to add that extra adjective or two 🙂
I often wonder:
1. Should I change the title when there is a major city event? such as the City Marathon or the Jazz Festival...
2. If yes, chaning the title per upcoming major event...How far in advance is it advantageous to change?
With Gratitude & Joy ~ Petra
