Hi Ian and Kathryn -
I just looked at your listing. Your place looks great!
I too have struggled to get everything I wanted in the Listing Description.
I am not aware as to how to make a longer Listing Description. I think it's a standard 500 character limit. As for the My Space area - you have pretty much unlimited space.
Given that... what I did was, I looked at my listing like "a book":
Listing Title: 50 characters: a title to a book to catch peoples attention.
Listing Description: 500 characters - it's like the intro to a book. Just a short overview of your place. Leave a lot of the details for the My Space section.
My Space: unlimited - it's like all of the chapters of the book, explaining each room in detail, other things your property offers, near by offerings, and house rules.
Wising you continued success with your place!
Best,
John

Thanks John. Yes we got there in the end. Not very intuitive but it works.
Hi John, I like what you said about treating it like writing a book but I can't find where the My Space section is. Can you help direct me there please?
Hi @Angela4023 , I'm tagging @John7474 using the "@" symbol so that they get notified of your question about listing descriptions.
If you'd like to ask a specific question in the Community, you can also start a new conversation with other Hosts by clicking on the "Post" button at the top of the Community Center webpage.
While we wait for John's support, I also wanted to share an Airbnb article in case it's useful in the meantime : Introducing the Listings tab .
@John7474 had also drafted a brilliant guide earlier to help Hosts with tips to improve listings . Sharing if you wanted to read his amazing ideas further 😍🌻.
@Bhumika thank you so much for the tag and helpful resources - I really appreciate it! My husband and I are going to go over them together tonight and write up our description and the about us section😉
Yay! @Angela4023 , so glad it was useful!
Do share it with us how you get along with updating description and your listing. We'd love to hear what factors you considered while writing a smooth listing description! 😉😍 All the best! 🌻
Still working on it ;-( by the time I get around to it it's late and I'm tired. I will share when I get it done to help others. Thank you
Check out that free tool chatgpt. You plop in some info and it writes very nice ad for you. I even plop what it wrote a few months ago and it rewrites for me. lol I am having a ball with it and so fast.
@Marie8425 thank you, I have used chatGPT to help me write my newsletters so I am familiar with it. I was trying to find the places to be able to add more characters. I'm working on the text first with the info first and then have chatGPT make it look good
I am trying to set up a listing for the first time and don't see the option for "My Space" or the ability to add a "co-host"? Can't access the "Today" tab either.
Do you have to publish your listing first?
Thanks,
Spencer
Hi @Spencer240
Yes...many sections are not available until you publish your listing including the ones you mention. You can't add a Co-Host until you publish it as well.
Break up the text into smaller paragraphs, bullet points, or numbered lists to make the information easy to digest.Headings and subheadings can also help organize the content
