Interesting to see that some board members who haven't posted here since 2017 are suddenly posting multiple times. The cynic in me suggests that Airbnb have asked them to do so to find out what is going on in Airbnb land.
Perhaps they should have just invited some of the more prolific posters on the community centre to be on the advisory board!
@Ute42 There really should be some award for laugh-of-the-day on this forum.
Every profession has its own unique brand of humor. I know a few nurses and they have a particularly sick sense of humor.
And my ex, who was a carpenter, had something he called idiot tax- a padding of the bill for the clients who knew nothing about construction, yet insisted on "helping", yet only getting in the way and slowing down the job.

Someone reading this section may be wondering why @Sarah977 , @Helen350 , @Colleen253 and @Debra300 are so utterly amused on here. The reason is that a couple of days ago I've published a pretty funny post one position upthread. But all of a sudden this post is gone, I have no idea where it went.
If someone posts something unappropriate in this Community Center moderators may delete it. In such cases the poster receives a message that a post was deleted due to violating the Comminity Center Guidelines. But I didn't get such a message, so I assume I did nothing wrong.
Maybe it's just a glitch that the post disappeared.

@Ute42 I thought it was funny. But I guess any content from private messages is banned, even if it's fictional

@Anonymous
Maybe Jeff from Trust & Safety complained about me for quoting from this confidential phonecall. I have no idea, he never contacted me.
Great to hear that You thought that my post was funny. In another thread You said: „many of the German hosts at the meetups reminded me of a boiled cabbage.“ The meetups would have been more entertaining with me around, wouldn't they?

@Ute42 It was very funny and I'm glad I managed to see it before it got deleted. They're kind of getting over the top here as far as which posts get deleted. It was obviously satire, but I guess that's no longer allowed.
I have no doubt that those meetups would have been an absolute riot if you'd been there! You must let me know if you're ever in Berlin.

You all don't know what the background of this post is.
About 10 days ago I got a message that one of the mods is missing my sense of humor. So I thought, ok, let's post a joke. I had 5 jokes in the making, decided for the telephone joke and posted it. And than I wrote to said person: I have just posted a joke especially for You.
Also, a couple of months ago I got a messege: In order to avoid missunderstandings, whenever I make a joke I should mark it as a joke by using a smilie, which I did.
So as it looks, the person who asked for my sense of humor does have a sense of humor him/herself but may have never seen my post as it got lost.
I was invited to make a joke which I did and I followed the Community Center Joke Guidelines. I had no bad intentions at all, I just wanted to cheer someone up. What's wrong with me?
I'm quite sure you that would have been kind @Ute42 . I appreciated your joke about the dog weeing against the Eric Clapton graffitti....! Is that still there? It helped to ease some tension I thought, broke the ice in a great way and left openings for those of us with better taste...haha. You know as in preferring Floence and the Machine....!!! xx Ok Eric was alright (!).
@Ute42 If someone were to ask me what would be the most important quality I would want in someone I had to be stranded on a desert island with for a year, it would be a good sense of humor.
LOLOLOL!!!😂🤣 Were you staying up tasting the local vintages?
In UK but not in France.
If there are travel government restrictions, the cancellation policy must be applied.
Travel insurances such as a gold American Express CB to pay the rental or the flight covers this risk.
It is a well known scam.
Travellers are repaid by Airbnb and the CB insurance.
It means they are repaid the double of what they pay.
If Airbnb pays back without host agreement, it means that Airbnb is part of the scam.
And even if the host pays back (not Airbnb), the traveller can be reimbursed by the insurance.
If the UK government does not know American Express and similar insurances, it means it does not know much about travel insurances.
** @Nathalie-Et-Gilles0 !
- And not everybody pays with a card that includes travel insurance!
It's UK LAW, not to steal money from a customer when the law is preventing the service from going ahead; a GOOD law! Why should a host be paid for a service they haven't provided, and can't by law provide? (which is different from a guest who changes their mind last minute.)

« And not everybody pays with a card that includes travel insurance!«
It is the traveller’s choice.
Host are not responsible of traveller’s choices.
A law which helps to scam somebody cannot be good.
Do you think it is normal to earn twice what you have paid?
Do you think it is normal that the contract is not applied?
Do you think it is normal to scam the host?
If you thing it is a good law so to balance it, the host should have the choice to receive guest with an insurance.
Airbnb already provides this opportunity with the flexible cancellation policy.
They just have a problem to apply the contract.
