New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula and @Rebecca   and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards,

Bhumika

Hi @Sandy976 , thanks so much for sharing about your cottage and petting farm.  Sounds exciting!! 😍 How do your guests usually react to the petting farm? Do you find that it attracts a lot of families with children? 😉

Hello from Jacksonville Florida, specifically from the Murray Hill neighborhood! I took the leap and just joined the AirBnB family a few days ago and already have a couple of bookings. I am both anxious and excited. Is that normal? 😁

I’m a Florida transplant from th Maryland/Washington DC area who works hard, laughs loud, loves sports, drinks red wine and whiskey, sings horribly, travels near and far often, and loves spending time in Oregon vineyards and on its magnificent coast. I have three beautiful children and three thriving grandchildren.

I am looking forward to learning from and contributing to this community. Thank you for welcoming me.

Hi @Dawn1085 , Congratulations on starting your Airbnb journey as a Host! Looks like the upcoming months are going to be a bit busy for you! 😉 ! Thanks for sharing such a lovely introduction with us.

Haha, It's completely normal to feel both anxious and excited especially when starting a new adventure, right!

What kind of unique experiences are you hoping to offer your guests in Murray Hill? Do you have any special welcome strategy planned for your new bookings?

Hi @Konika1 , Welcome to the Community Center 😍 Is there a particular reason why you're no longer hosting actively?

Have you stayed at any unique Airbnb's in the past? What type of Airbnb accommodation do you prefer when travelling as guests ‌😉‌ ‌🏘‌?

Hi, just joined a month ago.  It’s a little slow in Sydney as it’s winter but weekends book out for my apartment. Only my 4th booking and I had a lousy guest…initial requests to reduce the price, asked why the total cost was higher (Airbnb commission), then brought a 3yo after booking 3 adults, damaged a bed by moving it, left excrement on the linen and towels, unit was messy, then asked for a partial refund because she could smell paint. Expecting a negative review unfortunately, even though we went out of our way for her.  I guess there are a few bad apples out there, a pity we got one so soon.
