Hi @Donna1180 ,

Were you able to figure this out and got any information regarding it?

Hi @Donna1180 ,

I have some confusion around this issue too. I consented to data-sharing, largely bcs I knew my data would not be shared (I rent a room in my apt, when I'm here).

Now, every time I open the Airbnb app, I get a notice to apply for a registration number. It seems like those of us with just one listing,  whether a room in our home, or our home for the weeks we're gone, should be able to do short-term rentals (w/o limiting the housing stock in our already expensive city; maybe having fraud prevention mechanisms to limit those who rent out 5+ units ). But I'm concerned about

1. Who the registration is with

2. Who the data will be shared with (do I risk my long-time-landlord targeting me,  even tho I think mine is currently considered legit, bcs I'm home w the guest?)

3. Is there a way or a type of host profile that does not need a registration number?

Bottom line,  I've consented to data sharing bcs my profile means the data is not actually shared,  and I don't know about registration.

What are your thoughts/plans?

Hi @Rachel238  from my understanding regarding registration is that a person can only Airbnb their place as long as it is a share space between guess and host. So what you mention in your post that you share your space with guess will be ok to register but not for the host who make the whole entire space available to guess will not be able to host short term.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. @Donna1180

I have friends who rent out their apartment (they travel a fair amount for work), and they're waiting to see how the Airbnb&2 hosts lawsuit against NYC plays out.

Good luck to you.
