Payout Delay, Missing Transaction

I'm calling it a delay but it's been four days since my last guest checked in and I have received no payment from Airbnb and still no email indicating that a payout was sent.  This is very unusual because Airbnb always has notified me at the end of  Day 1 after check-in to let me know that a payment has been sent.  I checked my transactions page and the reservation was oddly missing.  It was not in the completed payments column nor in the upcoming payments column.  There is no 'pending column' where I hope my transaction is hiding. I called Airbnb customer service on Day 2 after check-in to see if there was some kind of problem or hold on the payout and the representative told me that there was no problem, that the payment was supposed to be sent but for some unexplainable reason, wasn't.  She advised me to wait a couple of days to see if anything happens.  I've been monitoring my deposit account daily to see if there has been any deposits from Airbnb - there are none. And still no email from Airbnb even after my guests have checked out.

I'm fortunate that my bookings have picked up again after the devastating cancellations in March thru June, none of which qualified for relief funds.  Now I'm becoming concerned that Airbnb may be having financial troubles, as predicted early in the Coronavirus outbrea, and can't pay make the prompt payments that we rely on.  After absorbing nearly $10,000 in lost bookings this Spring, I really depend on those timely payments for my damage control plan.  An interesting note:  I did online searches for 'Airbnb financial trouble' and found many articles from March and April, but none, yes none, that are more recent than early June.

Have any other hosts experienced this delay, or non-payment?  I'd appreciate your feedback.

@Colleen253  I hear you! If BnB keeps this up other platforms will rise to the top. Are you experiencing a similar problem?

@Anthony1148 I haven't experienced the payout issue (yet). This forum is like an overfull trash can of compIaints from hosts not getting payouts, so I expect it's just a matter of time. If at any point I fail to receive a pay out, I'll be done.

Hi Anthony

I read you post yesterday I am in California also .I have been hosting since 2013 and have never had a problem. I too have future guests and wondering if I should let them know that I am doubtful about being paid Its such a dilemma ! have you gotten paid yet Not Me !

@Roman149  Stop taking bookings on Airbnb and get on other platforms instead. It's clearly becoming untenable to host via Airbnb. Once you're up and running on other platforms, have Airbnb cancel all your upcoming bookings, citing the fact you are not being paid out.

This is the dilemma I face. I had a week long guest I did not get paid from and another right on it’s heals. I have 12 future bookings I don’t know if I should cancel. I contacted my next guest and let them know I am having payout issues with Airbnb and I may need their assistance to get paid. This really puts a bad taste in my mouth. I used to think Airbnb was awesome. They’ve successfully ruined my trust.

@Karen1332 Experience the same issue. If I were you I would not host any new bookings. Haven’t been paid for my last booking July 16th.. about $1000.  Am about to cancel all future bookings.

@ Hi Brian, I contacted my guests that I was not paid on and I had them tell Airbnb the exact day their CC was charged, how much was charged, and confirming their check in/check out dates too and I asked them to tell Airbnb to pay me for their stay and I got paid a few hours later. It is absolutely ridiculous I had to go to such extremes but it worked. Airbnb is not only destroying trust between their hosts but their guests too!

How embarrassing a host needs to do this to get paid. I have screen shots of my July stays and I have emailed to speak to a case manager as I have called three times and have been told everything looks in order but another team member will contact me and no contact received yet.

The three stays were successful and only one had issues where neighbours partied so it was a one off annoyance but the guest enjoyed my place. I do not want to bother the guests but if I have to I will. This isn’t acceptable. I’m hoping it’s a pandemic issue with short staffing or something because all complaints seem to lead to July payment issues? This is shameful though - thanks for your share and good luck.

Good judgement tell us not to allow an unpaid liability of a dubious debtor, to grow.

I had 5 missing payouts a week ago and no support from Airbnb so far.Have 2 new payouts missing from yesterday. These people are starting to steal money from hosts to recover their loss.

@Maya415 @Please share here if you get any updates. Thank you

Why Airbnb doesn't make the payouts the day guests check in.If you dont receive the payment or Airbnb doesnt confirm the payout you tell guests to stay somewhere else because their reservation is not paid.In this case the guest will deal with Airbnb and we dont have to waste hours, days or months dealing them.Where is the founder of Airbnb who posted videos few months ago saying how great is the Airbnb team and they are supporting hosts with $1 million from their pockets.Where is this guy to tell us how great is Airbnb team now and in who’s pockets our money go?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you for highlighting this payment issue, and I'm really sorry to hear so many of you are getting this problem arise. We are flagging this with the team, so hopefully there will be an update soon.

Please do continue to log any issues you have on this, both here and by getting in touch with Support directly.

Unfortunately, getting in touch with Support has had zero effect, as I have spent countless hours on the phone for the past 4 days, each time being promised I would get a call back or promised that my money would be paid out within 24 hours, neither of which has happened. Airbnb is clearly sitting on millions of $$$ that should rightfully have been paid out to hosts. What do you recommend we tell our upcoming guests who have already paid?
