What does it take to get Superhost status back??

I have been a Superhost for most of the 10+ years I have been hosting but in July last year a snippy guest gave me a 2-star rating because he found the mattress uncomfortable.
There is nothing wrong with the mattress on either of the beds and other guests have specifially mentioned that the beds are comfortable but this is his view and he is entitled to it.

However his one punishing rating pulled my average down enough to lose my Superhost status ever since. I have had 29 consecutive 5-star reviews since then and still my average star rating stubbornly remains at 4.7 which is not enough to qualify for Superhost status.
What will it take to get it back? Will I have to wait a whole year for this review to no longer be included in the averaging??
It feels unfair to be so penalised for one unnecessarily harsh review.

@Helen0 in a 12 month period you will need 30 5* reviews which when added to your 2* review will get you to 4.8 overall (actually 4.75 but it should round up)

Thank you so much! Good to know I'm almost back there at least.

@Helen0 I GOT IT WRONG.

Actually if you have 11 5* reviews and 1 2* review you get to 4.75 which rounds up to 4.8.

Quite why you are not showing 4.8 is a mystery I am afraid.

Guests don't necessarily view a 4.7 star rating as bad.  In the grand scheme of things a 4.7 is still very good!  Also, the Superhost status is great, but I think you can still be very successful without it.  I've seen a lot of great hosts and highly booked listings that are not Superhosts.  Just keep striving for greatness and you will get the status back.

To be honest, it hasn't really affected bookings, it's just annoying when by far the majority of my guests love their stay but all it takes it one sourpuss to ruin a  track record I've spent years building up.

Hi @Helen0 ,

I was able to find a Resource Center Article that has some details on the Superhost program and the evaluation period if you would like to have a look: How to become a Superhost.

I hope this helps you to dig more into the standards and requirements.
