Adding Taxes to my Listing

Adding Taxes to my Listing

I need to collect a total of 11% tax on all my rentals. There was no section when I created my listings to add taxes, even though properties in the same city even the same building have a line that charges "occupancy taxes". I have to talked with customer support until Im blue in the face and they have no real awnser. They want me to phsyically collect the tax in cash when the guest arrives, which is insane. The other option was to send an additional payment request for the taxes, but the customer is allowed to deny that request and then we have to go to Airbnb and dispute the charges. I hope someone has a resolution. Thanks

@Ellen250 - No, there is no way to add your own collection of taxes into the initial booking.  You need to list that you will be collecting the tax in your House Rules and in your House listing details.  Then you can (1) send the guest a special offer with the tax amount included or (2) use the Resolution Center to request the funds.  If they do not pay, you can get Airbnb involved to cancel the reservation.
