I had to cancel a reservation due to an extenuating circumstance on September 8, 2019. I was told by Airbnb I was entitled to a full refund and would receive it within 5-15 business days. It is now October 13, 2019, and I have still not received any refund or ANY help from anyone. They say I cannot call the "specialist department" and that they have to call me, yet NO ONE HAS. This is an absolute SCAM. All I want is my money back! Someone, please help, this is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe Airbnb can operate a business this way.
Hello @Madeline81
i am so sorry to hear this but we are a community of Airbnb users and not employed by them.
@Laura_C could you possibly help?
otherwise I would strongly suggest you get in touch with Airbnb directly- I have heard that twitter is very effective.
good luck to you!

@Madeline81 Keep on contacting Airbnb. Many people lately have been reporting that their support cases were passed through multiple people, each giving contradictory answers, but you deserve to have a final answer on this.
I also hope the incident inspires you to buy travel insurance for future trips. Most hosts agree that it's unfair to have their income taken away because a guest failed to insure their trip properly.
I have tried contacting them several times and get no answers. I did have proper travel insurance, but because of Airbnb's refund policy on this, unfortunately, I have to go through them since they "say" they give refunds.
Yes Air BnB are ass holes. Do not book with them again go Booking.com
