Aloha

Aloha Airbnb people, I’m really hoping that Airbnb Em Hawaii is going to step up and look after us in this terrible time. The city  of Hawaii is closing all vacation rentals which means all air B&Bs. There are 10,000 supposedly illegal Airbnb‘s in the state of Hawaii. These are local Hawaiian families who purchased properties and I’m trying to make a living and also providing great affordable accommodation for others who would like to come and enjoy the islands. If anybody else is going through this or has any Suggestions please let me know I would love to hear from you. I’m really hoping that Airbnb is going to bring out their attorneys against the city of Honolulu and Keep not only their revenue and business but ours is well.

@Dan690

3 posts, one after another, all about new Airbnb restrictions in Hawai, Detroit, and Paso Robles. Another one about Las Vegas.... it seems Airbnb will soon be banned all across the world

Aloha and thank you for your comments. Yes I hope Airbnb can see that this will end up a disaster if they keep letting the big hotels push them out. Something needs to be done. If this goes through there will be no Airbnb on Oahu. They are all illegal.... all 10,000 of them.

Went through.  so, now what?  Wondering if I should contact my future guests to let them know, and discuss options with them.

It's also more than confusing what those who want to try for one of the 1700 licenses are supposed to do.

surprised there are not more people on this thread, given the number we've all heard.

I'm worried too. I have guests scheduled through August and don't know if I should tell them to cancel so they can get other accomodation from the hotel (cartel).

When will we find out how to proceed?
