Alteration vs Cancellation

If I have accepted an alteration - can a guest still cancel afterwards?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond @Lisa723 ! In my case, the alteration was to end sooner, changed payment arrangements, and I accepted. If they cancel these arrangements - what does it revert back to? In my case, they planned to stay till July 15 for a certain dollar amount pernight. Then they sent an alteration ending their stay on May 15th but increased the $/night amount. I accepted. Can they still cancel this?

Yes, once you accept the alteration request it replaces the previous reservation as if it never happened. So they can cancel, and if they do your cancellation refund policy will be applied to the new reservation. A cancellation does not "revert back" to anything except the absence of a reservation.
