Apartment rental

Apartment rental

Hello,

My name is Boril and I will begin my education at University of Amsterdam (UvA) this September. For this reason I am looking for a place to stay for a long period. Using the website rooming.nl I have contacted a landlord in Amsterdam with whom I am negotiating a potential rent for an apartment located in Jodenbreestraat 1011 NS Amsterdam. We are communicating via WhatsApp, her name is Cristina . She offers me, using Airbnb to sign a contract. Unfortunately I will arrive in Amsterdam on 19th August so, I will not be able to attend an earlier inspection. UvA have warned me about multiple scams in Amsterdam involving new students , therefore I hope you can confirm Cristina is a client of yours. And one more question, is it possible to sign the contract without me inspecting the apartment?

Thank you in advance

Firsts: It is not a good idea to provide all your personal details here !

Second: your description of the business seems to me you are dealing with a scam.

Ask the landlord if she can provide you the direct link to the listing on the official Airbnb website

(Airbnb.nl or Airbnb.com).

Best regards,

Emiel

This is a public forum for hosts and guests. This is NOT Airbnb customer service. You should have a few minutes left to delete your post or at least to remove your private contacts and your host name. After that you will not be able to edit your post so hurry up.

Hello @Борил0

It sounds like a scam. Hosts communicate through Airbnb's platform not through What's App.

Airbnb is not really suitable for very long term bookings, you would be much better dealing with the accommodation office for the university you will be studying at to find suitable accommodation.

@Kirsty can you remove his personal details?
