App login issues with Android.

When I input my login and password, it appears to be logging in. The reCaptcha runs verifying i am not a robot then it stays on the login screen. If I tap login and do it again, it then runs indefinitely. No error message received. I have done the following:

 

Clear cache/data. No help

Clear cache/data uninstall/reinstall. nothing

Turn off install from backup in phone settings uninstall/reinstall. nope

Go to Google dashboard, delete backups.uninstall/reinstall notta

 

All the while, no error messages. Just stays on the login screen. I have a few trips completed and havent had any issues for almost 2 years. Changed password and it wont work. I even changed it back to the original password. nothing.

 

Support said to clear cache and data. I sent them a new inquiry today outlining the above. Noreply, assuming since it is Sunday.

 

Any ideas?

Having the exact same problem on 2 Android phones today (Sunday, Aug 11).

We travel in several days using 4 ABB stays.  This MUST be fixed ASAP.

Hey Airbnb.  I find it incredibly unacceptable from a business perspective that you all are having a MAJOR issue with your mobile apps (users unable to access information about services that they have paid hundreds/thousands of dollers for), and you guys are completely silent on the community forums.

 

Please step up to the modern world and use the communication channels you have provided to, well, um... communicate!

 

We'd like a status update.  Are your dev teams aware of the issue?  Are they working on it?  What is the expected ETA for a fix?  Can you provide a workaround in the meantime?

 

Please steup up and  behave/communicate like a mature company.

Have the same problem as others do.  I called it into Aribnb with no resolution they say they know about it and it looks like they have a new update to the app from just yesterday (and the one before that was 8/9/19)...so it looks like they're working on it...it's just they don't know how to fix it.  

Did you happen to change your password before you got the problem?  That's when my problem started and at least a couple of others have the same problem from the reviews on the app on playstore.  Based on that I'm thinking it has something to do with the database that stores our passwords.

I would call airbnb AND definitely  send an email through playstore telling them you're having the issue. (shows up as m.feedback.android@airbnb.com...but still want to use playstore to do it).  Also leave a 1 star review.  I'm thinking the more we let them know about the problem hopefully it'll pressure them to fix it.

Having the same problem tonight.  I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it.   After reinstalling, the first time I try to login,  I see the captcha screen flash up briefly before I get sent back to the login screen.  Subsequent login attempts dont go anywhere the login screen just hangs ( I see the icons appearing and disappearing like the app is thinking).

Hi - I have just had the same problem overnight and this morning.

 

I logged a ticket with the service desk and I don't know if they have resolved it or if I have stumbled across a possible solution so thought I would share in case it helps others.

 

I tried logging in and accidentally used my old password. 

I expected it to tell me that I had used the incorrect password, but it actually took me to the recaptcha screen. 

I did that and only then did it tell me I had used the incorrect credentials.

When I logged in using the right password, the app has opened.
