One host came in my bedroom and wanted to close bedroom door, not locked. But the door breaked !! so he was prisonner, then he went by the balcon....
After, i need to call in urgence a professionnel to open door ! He made it bu i payed around 320 euros. Can i ask money to my host or airbnb ?
I did my best to understand this story, but ended up in confusion. Why did the host came into your bedroom and why did he leave you with a door which could not be used ? And what kind of work was done for 320,- Euro ?
Best regards,
Emiel
Sorry, my english is not so good. I'm an host and i received a guest who blocked the bedroom door. I had to call a professionnel and he took a lot of money (too much i realize now). I already received people, about 15-20 persons, and never i had this problem. All people realized that the doors wasn't so good and they needn't to close this door because i slept in saloon and there is another door separating saloon, hallway and bedroom... The professionnal came and opened the door by drilling... for coming 90euros, for opening 130 euros and for quiting mechanism of keylock 130 euros, robber ! But i can't wait for open the door... my guest needs to go in the room , not by balcoon and next day, my son needs too...
Can i ask to the guest some money, not all because professionnal was a robber ! he said me perhaps his personnal assurance can work and pay back. His coming for two days in my bedroom give me around 35 euros... but his acting cost to me 320 euros... i can accept to pay a bit but not all because of him.
Is it more clear ?
@Jean547 If the door was problematic, I'm afraid you'll need to suck up the repair costs. It's pretty standard for guests wanting to close their door, regardless of whether you tell them they don't need to. Put it down to (an expensive) experience.
