Big Island Hawaii - Insurance Coverage for Short Term Rental Use

Just got word that our insurer has decided to not renew our policy on the Big Island. Wanted to put a call out for help from others in the community. Who are you using for insurance that specifically allows STVR use? Lloyds of London declined, as well.  Leaving us in a bit of a puzzle.

Any tips? Any companies you know of who will write the coverage? Any options?

Thanks!

Where are you on the island and in what Lava Zone?    If you are in Zones 1 or 2, you are completely out of luck.  You will not find a soul to insure you after what went down in Kapoho last year. 😞   If you are in Zone 3 and up, I do have a few recommendations for you.   I'm over on Kealakekua Bay, which is Zone 3, and we had no problem getting insurance both for the house and for the vacation rental income.

Thanks for the info; since posting we have found coverage. As it says in the title and in the post, Big Island. We are in lava zone 3. Ended up with an insurance broker from Oahu. Easy to deal with AND most importantly, covers short term rental use - which none of the main-stream companies will do for a second home. Appreciate your interest and help.
