Hi, I am in Jupiter Florida where the Cat 5 Hurricane was heading. On the 31st we booked a room north -the booking it noted, that we had 48 hours to cancel the reservation and receive a full refund, which is why we booked the room knowing the storm could take a turn. We ended up canceling within a few hours and were charged a $300 booking fee from Airbnb. My host refunded the full amount for the reservation however, I can't seem to locate a way to contact anyone on Airbnb for a refund of the booking fee.
Does anyone know how I would go about requesting this?
Thanks so much!
@Tish12 Not considering the hurricane, you don't always get full refund when you cancel within 48 hours. It depends on the cancellation policy chosen by the host. However, your case may fall into the extenuating circumstance as mentioned by @Emiel1 and you might get full refund including the service fee paid to Airbnb.
Here is the link for cancellation policy

Was the “Need a Place to Stay” offer removed for evacuees and disaster relief personnel?
Hi Tish
I'm a host in Bristol, England, not exactly a well known hurricane corridor, and a guest cancelled a couple of days ago, at less than 24 hours notice and was given a full refund due to hurricane Lorenzo! Extenuating conditions, apparently.
It's been a bit cloudy and we had a shower yesterday evening, but I cycled to work as usual this week and did not even get wet.
I sent Airbnb the ten day local forecast (partly cloudy, occasional shower) but they still refused to apply their normal cancellation policy.
Go figure!
Best wishes
Valerie
