Blocking out rooms

Blocking out rooms

Hi, I've just started hosting. I have 4 rooms. If I take a booking on my own b&b website, how do I block out that room on airbnb? I can see how to block out the whole date but not individual rooms! Do I need to make each of my rooms 4 separate airbnb listings?

Thanks

Colin

Hello @Colin183,

Yes, you should have a listing for each room. You can still keep the current 4 rooms 8 guests listing but increase the price if you also wish to be able to rent the whole place to a large group.

You'd need to then link the Airbnb calendars for each of the 1 room listings with the one for the 4 room listing so as to avoid double bookings via Airbnb. Turning off instant book might be a good idea at first until you see that the calendar synchronisation is working.

I don't know what calendar handling facility is available to you on your own website. You may have to investigate synchronisation between Airbnb and your website with whoever designed or hosts the website.

The way the Airbnb listing is at the moment a guest who books can require to be given all 4 rooms and bring 8 people fora total of £80 per night. Airbnb doesn't have a per room price setting but does have a per person charge which you must set if you wish to charge more the more people that there are in the group.

The article at the link below has some information on listing multiple rooms and linking Airbnb calendars.

@Colin183 Yes, each of your rooms needs to be a seperate Airbnb listing.
