Can travel credits be applied to a special offer?

I'm new to Airbnb and received $40 travel credits from a referral for signing up. I was looking for a place to stay, and a host offerred me a special offer price after we exchanged some messages.

However, I want to know if my travel credits can be applied toward the special offer price. On the page that shows the special offer with the Book Now button, it does not show the travel credits getting applied. I only see the travel credits getting applied on the standard listing page that has the Request to Book button. If I click the Book Now button  on the special offer page, will my travel credits get applied?

@Daniel2755 It can be because a host has no knowledge of what kind payment you make. The payment is solely handled by Airbnb. The host will still be paid in the amount he made the special offer less Airbnb service charge and tax.

I understand that from the host's point of view, they don't care how they get paid. But from my point of view, I'm unable to apply my travel credits to the host's special offer. Shouldn't I be able to? I could not find anything in the terms at https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/2269/airbnb-referral-program-terms-and-conditions that state that travel credits cannot be applied to special offers.
