Hi everyone!
So I booked an Airbnb in Mexico awhile back, but I need to cancel it. If I were to cancel now it would be a month in advance. What I want to know is two things:
1) The host has a strict cancellation policy that will give me a 50% refund. The policy states that you must cancel 7 days prior to the trip in order to receive the 50% refund. If I cancel a month in advance rather than 7 days prior will I still receive the 50% refund?
2) If I were to cancel this reservation can I book another place the next day after I cancelled the reservation?
Hello @Vanessa416.
Question No.1 - yes. At least 7 days it means.
Question No.2 - it depends if you have another source of funds. You may choose the option to use the funds from the cancellation to pay for another reservation, but I am not sure how long it will actually take Airbnb to release that amount. Some things happen in the system beyond logic.
Is there no chance to alter the existing reservation?
