Cancellation and Block

I am a new host and missed some of the setting re: Only renting for a week in July and August. Before I can fix it, someone instantly booked my listing for 2 days, I offered the week to the the renter, but they refused. I then had to cancel the reservation. I was penalized for it, and the dates are now blocked, busiest months of the year. Is there any way to reverse this penalty? Thanks!

Hello @The-Dans0

Unfortunately it sounds like you let your listing go live, before you were familiar with how Airbnb works.

Do have a look at their help forum. Airbnb takes host cancellations seriously and penalises hosts who do this, as you have found out.

You can give them a call or use their social media to ask them to review the penalties, but they do expect you as a host to make sure you have set your listing up properly including minimum stay requirements.

I would suggest you turn off instant book until you are more familiar with how the site works.,
