Cancellation announcement

i had a automatic reservation today and it is for next year. I didn't update my calendar for next year. The person booked on an event weekend. I informed the person of my error and would need to cancell reservation because of the price.

i did the cancellation and will be charged the $50 but it is still on the reservation calendar. When does that clear off?

Your calendar remains blocked when you initiate a cancellation, it’s one of the penalties designed to deter hosts from cancelling.

Maybe set your booking window to 6 months to prevent getting bookings now for next year.

If this happens. Honestly best to just suck it up. It’s not worth the hit on your account and the dates remain blocked on Airbnb anyway. So you loose all round. As others suggest, set you calendar to only accept bookings a few months in advance and update your prices. We are all totally responsible for maintaining our businesses which are only ‘showcased’ by Airbnb. We need to be professional and if a screw up is our fault, accept it and then move. Learn by our mistakes is the main lesson. Good luck

@Diane-And-Scott0  Good idea not to have your calendar open any further into the future than you can manage to update the calendar. Any open date is fair game for a booking.
