Cannot post all info in description (only 500 words!) issues with posting -

You all look like experts so was wondering if you had any advice!

I just tried to post and did NOT do instant book  (dont really trust it and always prefer to speak to guests first) - but in posting - the system does not let me enter all of my details / information on the room - it seems really different than list time I hosted.

There are a lot of details I want to put about the room  - a LOT more information about my listing and cannot - the description is limited to 500 words. and there are NO other fields I can fill in - looking at other listings on airbnb they are able to put a lot more info AND even my calendar is not working (keeps saying 21 DEC to 26 DEC is blocked out and I keep trying to put it back to AVAILABLE - have doen this before and it wont let me).... the system seems a lot harder to use than list time I 'hosted' or put up a listing. This time I can barely put any text. Compare my listing to this listing . Why can she put up all the info and not me?

It looks like you cancelled a reservation on a guest - was that for the dates in December that you mention? If so, these dates will remain blocked. It's one of the penalties for cancelling on a guest.

Regarding the description: there are a number of places to enter information. There is the Summary under Description which has a limited number of characters. But there is also The Space under Description, which gives you much more room to describe the property.

Hope that helps...

Hi - thanks so much for the above. I did not cancel on a guest - as I just posted. lol.

Could I have cancelled in error?

If so - how can I fix it?

Honestly - there was never an instant book and in comparison to 2 years ago I felt like posting this time was really not as easy, not as user-friendly.

I also wonderfully cannot get in touch w. the help desk - other than an email I sent earlier.

What do you think I should do to fix it?  (lol - really stressing me out)    THose dates are definitely free and by no means would I INTEND or want to cancel on anyone. would much prefer to rent the room.

thanks again for your help and advice!

also - i looked - I definitely did not cancel as no inquiries or reservation requests.

if you or anyone knows the phone number of airbnb help - would be grateful!   below is what it said on my hosting page for that listing

No new inquiries or requests.

@Dawn72

My error Dawn - it was a cancellation on another one of your properties....apologies!  Not sure then why these dates would be blocked. Try contacting AirBnB via Twitter for a quick response...search for AirBnB help

It;s a bit confusing as under your name it says you have 8 reviews...and shows a cancellation, but clearly not for the new listing you are creating.

ah! any other ideas on how to contact airbnb help?  i dont use twitter.

I tried an email - there is no phone number right?

below is what I am seeing - i think that all of the days should be marked as clear

@Dawn72  you don't use Twitter now but have you thought of getting aTwitter account and using it for this purpose only? It doesn't cost you anything and as it's the best way to contact Airbnb then I really think you need to consider it.
