Car stolen

My guests car was stolen from in front of my house, which my Airbnb is next to. I offered to take them to get a rental car. What have others done in this situation.

I’m pretty sure they left the car unlocked, as cars are very rarely stolen in this neighborhood.

Well this is really an issue for the guest to handle. Contact police, report car stolen. Make a claim on their car insurance which hopefully includes rental replacement.

It was nice of you to take them to a car rental.

Do you have CCTV outside your home - if so, you can run the footage and share it with the police.

This just happened to my guests too. It seems likely that keys were left in the car so someone was able to just drive away with it. A neighbor had their car rummaged through. The neighborhood isn't generally unsafe, but I would never leave my car unlocked.

Do you know if the guest was able to get their car back?
