Changing of guests throughout stay

Changing of guests throughout stay

Hi, so I'll be renting an airbnb for the course of 2 weeks.

However, my situation is as follows, I wish to rent for 4 people for the entire trip but the people I will be staying with will be changing throughout the entire stay.  Does it matter to the host if this happens, should I let them know, and is it fine as long as its 4 guests throughout the entire trip.

Additionally, I found out I have to arrive a day later even though I booked the Airbnb the day before I arrive.  If the people I'm staying with arrive first, would they be able to get into the Airbnb without me?

As a host I would absolutely want to know who was staying in my home and I would have to change the bedding/towels and clean the room inbetween guests so extra costs would need to be factored in.

What are you using the listing for, that people with be changing throughout your stay?

Personally I would not allow a guest who hadn't booked and paid to check in, a day ahead of the guest who made the booking.

What if they damage the place or have a party?

It's strictly a place for us to sleep, shower and get ready.

For most of the trip there will be actually 2 people even though booked for 4 for the entirety.

But we will absolutely let the host know the situation and see if something can be straightened out.

@Eric1304:
You need to be upfront with your host. Honesty and transparency is always the route to go. Some hosts don't mind the guests switching out as long as the person who reserved is always present. However, you will not be present on day one and that poses major complications and could violate the policies of Airbnb. If the reserving guest is not present at check-in some hosts will not allow access and will cancel the entire booking.

First, go into your reservation and add the members who will be staying the first day to your reservation so the host has a record and can review the guests.Next message the host and explain the situation.

When you book on Airbnb you are staying in someone's home. That home and its contents are a major investment the homeowner usually cannot afford to replace. Therefore, guests are vetted according to their profile, questions prior to booking and other host reviews. I can tell you that your situation is not ideal and would make many hosts nervous. In the future, you should contact the host and "inquire" prior to booking and explain your situation so the host has the opportunity to accept or reject before you potentially lose money through a cancelled reservation.

Like the others, I am also not happy with such combinations , specially not from someone who is new to airbnb, has no reviews, no profile photo and is verified only by email and phone number.

It is in my house rules that the person who booked has to be present on check in. Sometimes I do make an exception but he booker has to send me his/hers photo ID in advance . All guests have to show me their photo IDs at check in or send it in advance.

The booker is responsible for the keys and all the damage done during their stay so be carefull who are you booking for.

Regarding people change - every one of them will need a new bedding and towels and the host will have to come to change the beds, so extra cleaning fee may apply . You should work it out with your host.

I have very bad experience with groups who didn't check-in together. There are number of things I explain when the group arrives including keys and locks, house rules, how to operate the appliances etc... and those who arrive first should explain it to the others who come later - but they never do. And then we have a problem.

My advice - book a hotel this time.
