Charges from Air BNB that I do not recognize!?

Has anyone ever had money taken from their credit card from what appears to be AirBnB for no reason, with a statement that looks like this on their account...

AIRBNB * *
333.96 POUND STERLING

I have no idea what is is, and the amount of 333.96 British Pounds has been deducted from credit card twice! 

I have contacted AirBnB, and some guy called "Ernie L" keeps asking for the first 6 numbers and the last 4 numbers of my credit card, plus what type of card and name on the card, before he can look into it. When I as why, I get no response... something feels really bad about this?

I have already blocked my card, but apart from that I'm really not sure what to do?

Has anyone else had this problem?

@Tom898  This number - HMANAWCQC4 - is the reservation code.

Have you had any reservations with that code?

Contact @airbnbhelp on Twitter and tell them you have a question about that reservation code.

Ann72, thank you for this information. I never booked accommodation with Airbnb during this time, nor do I rent out my property with Airbnb. I don't rent my property out at all, actually. This is why all of this is a mystery,  and a bit of a concern actually 😞
