Can you run a promotion for your property with a custom coupon code for friends and family?

This might be a dumb question, but why would you do that? Wouldn't friends or family just go to you directly? Why would you have them pay Airbnb commission? Am I missing something?!

Mostly so they can leave us good reviews since we are just starting out :). And also we have a ton of Facebook friends and it's easier to just give them a custom coupon than taking individual messages from everyone.
