Declining a request

I just declined a request because I simply had a gut feeling that something wasn't right.  The request started off with info on a sick child and asked for help.  Verifications only included email, phone number and facebook friend count.  Was this a wise decision?

I think you should trust your gut. I had a funny feeling about a reservation yesterday. Should have listened to myself. After a lot of back and forth messages, she cancelled and requested a full refund. I could have saved myself some time and trouble.

Always go with your gut feeling....

Don't feel bad. Your gut is always right. If something bothers me about an inquiry or booking request I immediately hit the "decline" button and don't waste my time. Don't regret the money you "may" have made. In my three years of hosting I have never had any regrets about any declines I made, and there have been quite a few!

@Jimi0,

Oftentimes these where they are asking for help are actually a scam. You should hit the flag icon in the message stream to alert Airbnb to investigate further. Your gut feeling was correct.
