Discounts for AIRBNB hosts when they book

Is there a discount for AIRBNB hosts when they book a space from another AIRBNB host?

No.

But a lower Airbnb Guest Service fee would be a nice gesture from Airbnb to reward their hosts.

Sounds like a movement or campaign. Let's hear from others on this topic.

Many hosts here will say that hosts themselves are the worst guests. I get some anxiety when a host books with me, just from reading many of the stories on this forum. I don't think I would want to throw in a discount.

@Emilia42  I've only ever hosted one other host-very recently. I've never been nervous about hosting, but I found myself being concerned about this booking because of the "host/bad guest" posts here. But happily, she was lovely, was totally forthcoming with appreciation, didn't criticize one thing or offer unsolicited advice, and left a 5* review.

You can always ask a fellowhost for a discount.

You can ask for a discount before You book or as soon as You are in the listing. E.g. you find some dust underneath the sofa or some water drops out underneath the sink or You just don't like the location. Also You can ask Your host for a discount for no reason at all, just mentioning You would leave a bad review if You don't get it.

And don't worry about Your fellow hosts cancellation policy. If You cannot travel just ask the host to refund the money in full, if You don't get it, You can always leave a bad review, even if You have never seen  the place.

As soon as You change from host to guest all of a sudden You have all the rights our valued airbnb guests always have.

@Noemi118   Super hosts are awarded a $100 credit to apply to their own stays at Airbnb properties.  Seems to me that is a pretty nice discount.  Personally, asking for a price reduction or mentioning you are a host is not the best way to approach a fellow host.

I started out as a guest and have never asked for a discount. I’m even less inclined to ask for one now that I host as well. I simply look for accommodations that are within my budget.

Linda and Richard, thank you for the information. Some information is harder than some to find on the AIRBNB website. And I do agree with you that it would be quite crass to inopportune a fellow host with such matters. Our business partner is AIRBNB.

I can't see any reason why there should be @Noemi118 . Do you advertise a discount for hosts on your listing?

I have been a guest quite a few times and it didn't occur to me to ask for a discount just because I happen to be a fellow host.

I have had about 15 hosts stay with me and none of them have asked for a discount.

However it would be good if Airbnb could offer a discount on their fees.

Exactly my point, Helen. Airbnb is the business partner so that's from where the discounts or bonuses or premiums or whatever recognition should emanate.
