I require guests to go through ID verification before booking. If a guest sends me an enquiry and I pre-approve them, does that circumvent my ID requirement or will they still have to submit this?

I had this exact question. The airbnb helpline "asked someone" & said the preapproval allows them to bipass the requirements. However, under help...it says it doesn't! Does anyone know for certain?

@Adam - no it does not circumvent this requirement and they will still have to submit it. I do it all the time and the guest can't book until they are fully verified. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/237/how-do-i-pre-approve-a-guest
Pre-approvals do not override your reservation requirements.

I share the same concern. So why does Airbnb bother accepting enquires for listings (like mine) which require government issued id verification when guests request a pre-approved booking whilst they don't have as yet their id verified?
