Double Booking

Hi,

Iv'e just noticed that I have 2 guests that booked my apartment and their dates overlap. How is this possible? I know that airbnb is blocking booked dates but probably a failure has occurred and both guests arrive on the same dates. How can I contact someone from Airbnb?

Thanks,

Naomi

After looking at your profile, you have 2 listings.  Is it possible that what you are seeing on the calendar is actually a reservation for each listing?  Not 2 reservations for the same location?

If you use the search box here in the forums, you can find the Community Help Guide to Contacting Airbnb.  It's also pinned to the top of the Community Help Forum.

No, it is for the same apartment.

Can you move one to the other place?

By the way, I looked at the first listing (the one with the rooftop) and it is gorgeous!

No, It's also booked on those dates and double the price.

Thanks you!

I just don't understand why it happend and I don't want to cancel a reservation, it is Airbnb mistake.

Naomi:  I had the same issue this weekend.  Im calling it the Weekend from Hell.  We have two neighbouring locations.  The first guests said they were at the "River House".  I didnt check the reservations until she emailed and said she couldnt book the additional three guests to say with them.  That's when I discovered that she was booked at the River Manor.  I said it would be OK as the other booking for only two people and switchinig wouldnt be an issue.  However it was!  We had previous guests who trashed the suite shortly after the booking came in.  The second set of guests who actuallly booked the River House also requested bring another two guests but didnt confirm it until literally the time of arrival.  I ALWAYS ask for ETA and that way I have time to correct any oversights.  I didnt have that luxury this time.  And the River Manor was definitely not suitable for four adults anymore as I had to change the two queen beds to one queen and one single (plus a pullout sofa bed).  The guests who should have had the River House would have been ok in either location by themselves...and even HAD the River House had they answered my request for ETA prior to just 20 minutes...especially since the other guests arrived shortly before that.

So with a 24 EST (ie mid afternoon, early evening, etc), that gives time to adjust for the oversights.  Im my case...it just didnt happen.  Insult to injury I inadvertenly forgot and confusted the Sharon with Sheree (who is coming next weekend).  So in my mind I forgot about the second booking, same day.  It gets worse.  If thought the guests paid for four people...but didnt...only two and so I refunded the total amount including the extra expenses for Airbnb.  In fact I PAID them an additional $40 cash to stay with us and feed four a luxury breakfast.  Am I the fool?  Did I get screwed?

So I am now contacting guests and telling them it is imparative to have EST at least 24 hours prior especially because I have two sites going for two locations.  I only wish I had phone numbers at the time of inquiry and I could give all this information out at the onset instead of being totally embarrassed when the Mazarotti arrived at the front door! (literally)
