Expired booking request (pending payment stuck)

Warm Greetings

I have requested a booking for a location in Tokyo and even sent a polite message in relation to the booking but unfortunately the booking expired and no response from the host (it seems like the time slot may still be open but unsuable till they respond).

What concerns me is the pending balance, in looking I saw information that suggested the balance would return to my bank once the booking expired but as time passes by this seems more uncertain.

Any advise on how to proceed (with the refund for the booking) or tips on finding suitable hosts within Tokyo would be great as I booked my exciting first trip abroad for 27/04/2018-14/05/2018 and would be keen to have the benefits of an airbnb accommodation (as its well priced in general and better then a shared accommodation which seems oddly popular in Tokyo in those tiny capsule hostels)

I suppose part of my question was around experiences other members had in simular situations, and for tips from the community in reguards to making the most of airbnb when booking a vacation place.

Though if that is also somthing to take directly with airbnb and not the host/guest forum then i shall do my best
