Hello
new to this hope someone can advise if you have a double bed but only charge per night 1 guest example 1 night $30 extra person $20 how come it don’t add that extra person on I’ve taken a booking but there are 2 people not one ?
Hello @Gary365,
You've set the maximum number of guests to be 1 so the system can't charge for two people.
As your room has a double bed you could set the maximum at 2.
Steve.
Oh we prefer 1 only if they have additional guest we will inform them extra charge I am new to this so 1 is enough at the moment but will change as I gain more confidence.
I don’t want to have 2 and then my price changes I’m happy with short cheap regular stays in meantime. Thanks if we set it as 2 do you charge more then ? Is it price per room or people?
Hello @Gary365,
I also didn't want to set my price for one with an extra person charge as I didn't want to have the guest see a price increase when they entered the number of people as two.
I rent a double room in the house in which I live and set my base price of €40 for 2 people as 88% of my stays have been for two people and I still have to do the same amount of cleaning, washing & ironing for two as for 1. €40 does make it a little expensive for single travellers but only one such traveller out of 46 has marked me down on value.
It depends on your market. If you're happy, as a 1 person listing, with the number of reservations you get then that's all that counts.
Steve.
