Is it normal for a host to have ten reviews in a row by the same person...? On multiple listings? All very short with things like "great host" "very clean" "best night sleep" i suspect a host is faking reviews to boost scores.
link to listing?
There are multiple listings under the host Mike ** in Chicago. If you do look through them thoroughly, you'll notice the majority of his listings have suspicious reviews.
Haven't found the actual listing, but can be a guest booking again and again. Seems too blatant to be one person pushing up reviews. If you are staying and extending, you will be prompted to write a new review but what can you say? Great place?
It is a little weird.
The main reason i find it suspicious is because this host has over one hundred listings and has similar reviews on nearly all of them. Many from this guy "Wendell" and a handful of other repeat guests, even some from a co-host on a few listings! Hard to believe Wendell stayed at SO many of Mike's properties in such a short amount of time and wrote a 3 word review for each one. I stayed at one of his units a few weeks ago and wondered how it was possible that he had such high reviews... Low and behold there were these suspicious reviews. Whatever, though. Now i know to look more thoroughly. None of my other reservations or hosts have similar issues.
Here's some more info... Wendell sure gets around to different beds, rooms, houses, etc. I still say FAKE.
I get it. A lot of reviews. But no need to put it all up, all you needed to do was post a listing link, such as https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/3769179. Landry's comment gets a bit lost in all the reviews ''Don't book''. Making fake reviews is a lot of effort, as they have to book (can be done for a minimum value) through the system etc. I have not seen many fakes, apart from the odd friend (you can cross check and see the host now commenting on other listing). I have seen quite a few test listings, not real. You can report it if you wish, but leave a review too, even if it drowns in the raves.
I know how to post a link. You'd have had to filter through all of the reviews on the 140 some odd listings he has up if i just posted a link. I posted screen shots to show what i was trying to show. Supposedly one guy moves from bed to bed, room to room, house to house all in about a month. And he's not the only one. Just the most prominent. These are not test listings. If you think it's legitimate, it is your opinion. I see scam written all over it. Good luck out there, everyone.
No I don't think it's a test, I was just saying that the only time I have seen stuff like this has been on test listings. This is clearly real, you stayed there after all. Leave a review, report the listing. Not sure what else you can do?
