Hi, I'm Per Java and runs a small Guest House in Southern Philippines, together with my wife Teresita.
I wonder if our Main Photo in the listings is doing the job...
Does our photo work for you? Would you like to see more and click on our listing 'cos of the photo itself?
In the link below, to AirBnB Search for Private Room in Cagayan de Oro City, are listed 161 places...
and I would like to have some feedback on how our photo is doing compared to the other 160 in this list. (not compared to listing worldwide)
well, your cover photo stands up in a crowd because it is the only one with greenery. I would click on it.
But, you could really work on your other photos and hire some professional photographer, your photo gallery is pretty lame (sorry to say). Your goal is not only to get people to click on your listing but to convince them to book as well.
There is not a lot of greenery left in our city and for me its important to attract guests which are like-minded regarding, city-garden and being eco-friendly. Its not all about money and capturing every guest possible. Our Main Photo should attract the right people and our reviews make them book.
I'm aware of my gallery is not perfect, but 90% of our guest are filipino and its my experience that they have more practical concerns, than if a pillow is red or blue and if pictures are taken from a fancy angle.
Filipino are in general afraid of places unknown to them and therefore its important for us to make our future guests feel, they have known us always. So no Instant Booking, you have to send request so you can feel "at home" before arriving.
Well, that's the goal, but without the right Main Photo, guests will not read our reviews, at that's the reason I focus on that.
Not sure a professional photographer can change a lot, but spending some time on our decor might.
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback
Regards
Per Java
