Fraud report

There was an unauthorized Airbnb  transaction on my bank account . I never had an active Airbnb account till today.
I reported the transaction to airbnb in the same day.I gave them  every single detail  including the transaction number In the same day.
After 2 days (wow!)  Airbnb customer service responded and refused to share any information
or helping to locate the scammer who is already a guest booked through their website/app.

I disputed from the credit card company.
Before reporting that issue to a local police department and possible lawsuit action against airbnb.
I would like to ask couple of questions.
1) Is airbnb ok with processing with stolen credit cards?
2) Is airbnb updating their hosts when there is a situation like that?
Currently (yes today) some thieve is using your property and can make some more damage to that property. Can steal stuff.
How about your hosts security ?
Obviously a lot of scammers are aware of that AirBNB is not taking any action immediately against fraud reports and they are very happy with using their service.  Which makes Airbnb is a great playground for scammers.

@Ibrahim67 I am sorry that that happened to you but this is a community forum and we are all hosts here, not Airbnb employees. It is not likely that Airbnb employees will see your post here, you need to contact them directly. For the future it is best if you don't save credit card details on any website you have profile on, you can just type in the details when you need to pay something. It doesn't take up much time but it saves you from this kind of trouble. Or if the details weren't saved and someone stole your credit card you should cancel it immediately. I hope you get your money back.

I did cancel the c.c. immediately.  I posted here because I want Airbnb hosts to be aware of that. Thieves can steal more stuff from the properties and Airbnb doesn't care about that.  I reported and disputed . I know Airbnb employees will not see that and they won't even care.

@Ibrahim67 your questions are structured as for Airbnb employees, that is why I explained that we are all hosts 🙂

I also suffer from the exact same issue.
Today I received an sms from my bank, telling from my card was just spent 1950 HKD internationally.
I called my bank immediately and told that i did not make the transaction.
My bank canceled my card immediately.
I will learn the details of the transaction tomorrow.

The sms is as follows.
airbnb @ hmadsjjh89 1937.05 HKD

As far as I understand, my card was used by airbnb in Hong Kong. HKD is hong kong dollars currency code.
I have never been in Hong Kong.

Obviously my card was copied or my card info was stolen.
This kind of fraud is commonly made in touristic places, like hotels or restaurants.
I had been in several places in Europe this year. Italy, France, Holland and Germany.
I strongly suspect that my card info was copied in Rome or Paris.
Because I only used my credit card for paying the hotel bill in Rome and Paris. All other payments, like restaurants and cafes I made by cash.

So were you also in Italy? Where did you use your card? Especially in touristic hotels?
I strongly suspect that my card was copied in the hotel that I stayed in Rome.
This kind of fraud is made in vast numbers, in hotels. And then the fraudelent personnel wholesale sell these card numbers to other crime organizations.
