Fraudulent Subleasers

Had anyone had an experience with a person renting your home and then renting it out as a party space?  This happened to me over the weekend.  Someone who lives 8 miles from me autobooked my basement apartment.  She lives 8 miles from me and had one 5 star rating.  She has a company called K3 Konnections which rents Airbnb’s and subleases them to people as an event without the host’s knowledge.
All of my house rules were broken and my place was trashed.  We seem to have no recourse.  The person who rented the space declined the air cover claim for the destroyed property.  I filed a police report but the police said they probably won’t be able to do anything.  Airbnb seems disinterested in helping me with this.

@Stephanie222 “Someone “who lives 8 miles” from you was the red flag. Enough to use one of your penalty free cancellations, being an instant book. Prevention, not clean up. That’s the key.

@Stephanie222   AirBnB is probably not going to help either.  You may have to go to your own insurance company or to a lawyer and file in small claims court.

Turn off the instant book.

@Stephanie222 Just because the renter rejected your Aircover claim you can and should still claim from Airbnb. Of course there is every chance they will deny the claim but don't give up without a fight.
