Giving out my address

Giving out my address

We have had two airbnb guests give out our address to local friends and those local friends have showed up days or weeks before the booked stay and pulled in the driveway and started taking pictures AND knocked on the door asking to see the airbnb. Airbnb needs to protect their hosts and remind people not to give out a hosts address to people without obtaining consent from the property owner.

These guests are not OK by doing so. Maybe contact Airbnb and ask for cancellation of the reservation.

@Audra-And-Bret0 I couldn't agree with @Emiel1 any more..... these guests will not respect you at all. Seriously, having friends coming to the door in advance? That breaks so many polite-company rules!

To be fair they didn’t ask their friends to come by but they gave out the address and their friends took it upon themselves to cone over. Highly intrusive and dangerous for us! One of these guests is a superhost themselves!

Hello @Audra-And-Bret0! Personally, I would also report this to Airbnb as mentioned in the replies above. Would you mind keeping us updated on this?

I very much doubt that friends of a guest would just 'take it upon themselves' to find out the address of where their friends were staying and then come and knock on your door asking to look around your Airbnb @Audra-And-Bret0

Much more likely this was done at least with the knowledge of, and probably at the request of the guests.

This has never happend to me in over three years of hosting and hundreds of guests.

For it to happen to you twice would be highly unusual.

I hope you didn't let them in.

If this happened to me I would ask Airbnb to cancel the bookings.
